Announcing My Candidacy

I'm excited to announce my run for the office of Select Board. I believe that I am the right choice for Wellesley, now more than ever, because of my experience with ground level citizenship and community based leadership.  Raised in Newton, I moved my young family to Wellesley 16 years ago and I consider this town, with it's vibrant social groups and beautiful natural resources to be one of the best places to live, and work.   I enjoy my rewarding roles with the youth in town, as a teacher's assistant and a Varsity Cheer Team coach.

As an active volunteer, I'm dedicated to my participation in a number of organizations and committees that have goals that I am passionate about. This interest and passion has led to appointed and elected positions, that help keep me plugged in with our community and ready to build stronger connections to get things done.  I am well suited for this position based on my proven track record of dedication,  responsiveness and a history of relentless community advocacy.

Examples of my current community roles:

  • Chair of Wellesley Housing Authority Board Wellesley

  • Town Meeting Member- E

  • Wellesley Historical Commission

  • Metro West Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women - Legislative Chair

  • League  Women Voters Wellesley -Nom. Committee

  • Wellesley D.E.I. Taskforce Member

  • Wellesley Womens Initiative International Women's Day Planning Comm.

  • St John St Paul Collaborative Council

  • Commonwealth Seminar Graduate

  • Girl Power Flag Football Youth Worker

  • Wellesley Cheer Coalition - Founder

I work in town, I worship in town, and let me tell you,  working and worshipping here has shown me these clear facts: The issues that impact our community, are the issues that can improve our daily lives, impact our day-to-day tranquility, effect our budget, or make those lives and livelihoods meaningful.

If you choose me to join the Select Board, I would ensure that my decisions are fair, transparent, inclusive, and representative of those issues that impact the people the most. I believe in a Wellesley that's ready to see an example of diversity in our town's leadership that allows a transformation of the typical figures of government we see. We can open the doors for others and be an example for other towns to model. Let Wellesley be a true place of "contentment", like the founding members described it. A Wellesley where diverse voices and diverse leadership meet. I need your vote on March 5th, to give me the chance to show Wellesley what we can accomplish, together!
